I am in love all over again

Just now I was reading one of my favorite blogs, and came across her mention of the band She & Him Volume One with M. Ward & Zooey Deschanel. You know, that hot chica from Elf. I immediately went to iTunes and downloaded the entire album. The song that Alicia had on her site is what made me decide to download the entire thing without listening. I am listening as we speak, and I think it might be my favorite album since I first heard The Cowboy Junkies The Trinity Sessions. And that is HUGE! Holy Cow! This is huge.

Fire!

Tonight, Steve, my ma, her friend and I are going to see the Cowboy Junkies. I am so excited! It has been quite a few years since I have seen them live. I own a ridiculous number of their cds, I think like 16, but they are all so good. If you have not gotten into the Cowboy Junkies yet, go download their album now!

I set myself on fire today. I always wear a mask when I am working, or at least try to. I felt something hot near my face and looked out of the corner of my eye, and I saw that I had set the elastic band on my mask on fire. Not just little simmers, an all out flame. I put it out with my hand. I was afraid that if I waited till I could take the mask off I would set my hair on fire (luckily I don't wear hairspray). I only burned my hand a little. No more than I normally burn myself while making a piece. It was all worth it, because I really like the new ring, right?

An Inspirational Day

First, this sunset from our front porch. Technically we do not own that tree. But, I do tend to call it my tree. Except, in the presence of our awesome neighbors, Anne & Darren, I correct myself, "I mean your tree". It is on their side. But I can see it from my window. I suppose there are a lot of things I can see from my window that I do not own.

And then this fabulous movie. If you have not seen it, I highly suggest going out and renting it. Steve and I were just talking about where we are going to go for our honeymoon. And, I think if we can afford it we are going to go to Ireland. Stay in an old castle or something. That sounds like more our speed than a sunny, beachy vacation.

I hope everyone has a superb new year's eve and new year's day. I am off to download the soundtrack to that movie!
